Carol's Doodle

I chose a design from one of my design sketch books. Then I doodled all over it with my sewing
machine. I happily experimented with all kinds of stitches, but seem to have a problem just “letting go” and not doing something symmetrical.
I did start this one right away when the word was chosen, and doodled away on it periodically. I made it from some silk fabrics I had that already had the Misty Fuse backing. I used all kinds of stitches the fit all the weird angles.
Randy can switch this any way he wants to fit the composite - it's a doodle :)

  3. What fun you had with your stitches! Everyone needs to "click to enlarge" to see this stitching. Yes, definitely Carol used a modern machine to make this one!

  7. From Rita: – I am always so impressed by someone that actually has a sketchbook. That must be a wonderful resource. Your “periodic” doodling works beautifully with your design.

  8. HI Carol ! I think you did a GREAT job on your Doodle quilt ! You know, in Zentangle and Zendoodle art we're strongly encouraged to use a sketchbook every day to practice our strokes, get a 'rhythm' going, and invite our creative muses to keep us inspired. And you use a sketchbook ! ! !
Loved how you used your machine to do your doodle designs, and that you were able to incorporate already-ready fused silk fabric in your way cool quilt !

  10. I envy your ability to produce symmetry - I admire symmetrical designs but there will probably never be one that comes out of me. I appreciate how your design incorporates symmetry and non-symmetry. This looks like it was a lot of fun to work on.
