My mother had 6 sisters and they ALL did some form of handwork - smocking, tatting, crocheting, and embroidery were their specialties. I couldn't help but learn to do it properly!! I started sewing when I was young too starting with Barbie doll clothes. In fact I found the original patterns I used when I was in Louisiana recently looking after her.Nedra Weaverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12713288647355250747noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4728166793718979713.post-16462426489348647422013-11-15T14:30:41.966-05:002013-11-15T14:30:41.966-05:00Hilarious! He said, I want to meet this lady! lol Such a great solution, and I am in awe of your embroidery, and would not even know how to begin doing hand embroidery, Your embroidery is always fabulous fabulous fabulous! I never learned to hand sew. My grandmother was always trying to teach me, but I would get so frustrated. I had a vision problem as a child that was diagnosed till I was 30, I needed glasses for close vision and reading. It's a shame because she was a master at handwork, and I could have learned a lot from her, but trying to force my eyes to focus made me nervous, and frustrated. It's amazing what glasses do!!!!!! Always fun to see your work.loistheartisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06874401983663533819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4728166793718979713.post-303113224683577462013-11-15T11:49:04.178-05:002013-11-15T11:49:04.178-05:00You are the queen of hand embroidery! Coming from a traditional quilting background, I find hand quilting and stitching very comforting. I love snuggling in one of my chairs and stitching away, so that is the reason I chose to portray my theme with "black-work" embroidery and hand quilting!.
