Printing on Sheer Fabrics

Hi Mavens,
We finally found the liquid that my husband used to print on sheer fabric. It is made by Golden and is called Digital Ground Clear (Gloss). It prepares surfaces for Ink-jet printing. It worked really well. Arnie bought it at an artist supply store in San Diego.

  1. Thanks for that info Barbara. I actually have some of the Digital Ground, but have never used...now I'm inspired to try it!

  2. I also am excited to get this new information. Do you dip the fabric in the liquid or roll it on the fabric?

  3. He painted on the fabric with a 3" wide sponge brush. I think the instructions might be on the Golden web site. He used painter's tape to secure the (dried and cut) fabric to paper to go through the printer.

  4. Wonderful tip, Barbara! I want to try this! Sounds better than my current method--ironing freezer paper to fabric and feeding thru my printer. My ink jet is so cranky and has refused to accept so many of the products out there--all expensive--products that are basically fabric adhered to a backing that you then peel off. I think I will do a post about ink jet printer brands and which ones are the most cooperative!
