Gail's--Reach into My Stash!

This was the easiest challenge for me. I immediately thought "reach into my stash" and that's exactly what I did. I like to use these challenges to "reach" new levels of technique. For the past year I've been mulling over a larger piece involving curved piecing.  Being a "reach" for me I've naturally avoided starting it! Now I feel competent to start it after "reaching" this
smaller achievement. I have a large unique hand dyed piece from Helene Davis Art Studio in Paducah. I will again "reach" into my stash to incorporate just the right fabric. The background for this challenge was a piece of art fabric I impulsively "reached" for in Houston a few years ago. My hope is this little quilt will "reach" your soul in a symphony of color!

  2. Gail, so happy you solved the mystery of why at first your text didn't show up! You must email me and let me know how you fixed it, because all of my attempts were futile. But back to the quilt--reach in my stash! Why didn't that occur to me! It is a perfect use of the word reach and I also love the notion of trying new techniques and challenges--reaching always to learn and grow. This theme was just right for you, and the quilt that resulted is wonderful!

  3. Gail, hurrah! You solved the problem of why your text didn't show up at first! Please let me know what you did, as all of my attempts to fix it were futile. Truly, this theme was perfect for you. And I am somewhat envious that "reaching into my stash" didn't occur to me, as it would have afforded me a wonderful chance to use fabrics I often look at and think, "What'll I ever do with that?" Too, I love the way you thought about reaching out for new techniques and being brave enough to try them. Truly, your little quilt is a perfect example of this theme word that was so very difficult for me!

  9. Wow Gail, I wish I had come up with this idea! I just love that you and Sara both "reached" into your stash to make your quilts. Love the sense of play between the colors, design and quilting.
