My Birthday is in the month of February and I have always loved Amethyst as it is my birthstone. I am especially partial to geodes. They are so fascinating. This is actually done using the confetti method with a batik purple fabric, purple Angelina, and purple tulle overlaid that contained a few sparkles. I used by Brother Scan and Cut for the letters.
The new challenge word is: Blues
Teresa, this is beautiful! I always envied people who had February birthdays, as amethysts are one of my favorite stones! I used to have a gorgeous amethyst ring that my grandmother gave me. Sadly, somewhere along the way, I lost it, but I have never forgotten that beautiful ring. You did a superb job of portraying this lovely stone!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Teresa a few days early! The amethyst also happens to be my favorite stone. Once, when I was at Ghost Ranch, a new friend gave me the most gorgeous large piece of amethyst. She said it held spiritual qualities. Unfortunately, I have long since lost it. Your sparkly quilt reminded me of that beautiful stone. I love your creation and techniques!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful geode. I think we all love amethysts. I love the letters that you applied made of slightly varying purples.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
This is really lovely ! Thanks for sharing the different techniques and fabrics you used.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color and texture! I like everything about this from the techniques used to the written word. You must teach me how to do this.
ReplyDeleteThe snippet method really was a great way to make the texture right in the stone and I know the angelina fibers give it the sparkle it needs! Nicely done!
